Alumni News: May Edition

Latest releases

• Vivian Allvin starred in Migraaaaants at ExPats Theatre in Washington D.C. from 16 March - April 7.
• London Tide runs at the National Theatre from 10 April - 22 June, featuring Tingying Dong as Co-Sound Designer, and starring Ami Tredrea and Miya James.
• Sam Alexander stars in Machinal at The Old Vic, with Emily Compton as Assistant Stage Manager, from 11 April – 1 June.  
• Holly Ellis was Lighting Designer for The Promise at Birmingham Rep, which played on 12 and 13 April. 
• London Tide runs at the National Theatre from 10 April - 22 June, featuring Tingying Dong as Co-Sound Designer. 
• Alex Benoit has made his Broadway debut in The Notebook, running now at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. 
• In April, Tobi Martins-Ojo, George Solomou, Kaustubh Vaidya starred in Odd Jobs at The Hope Theatre, with Alexis Mumford as Stage Manager, and written and directed by Madison Gerringer. 
• Ryan Saviano stars in the episode "Inconvenient Truth" of TV series Law & Order alongside LAMDA alum Tony Goldwyn, which aired on NBC in the US on 18 April. 
• Tales of Kenzera: Zau was released on Playstation on 23 April and features the voice of Abubakar Salim. 
• Stephen Moyer starred in Macbeth on 20 and 21 April at Sheen Center Shiner Theatre in New York as part of the Red Bull Theatre's 20th Anniversary Festival. 
• Netflix’s adaption of Neil Gaiman’s comics Dead Boy Detectives, starring George Rexstrew, is available to stream from 25 April. 
• Candace Leung starred in her play Expatriated, which she developed at LAMDA, at the Hen & Chickens Theatre on 28 April. 
• Here Comes the Sun Cabaret night took place at the Canal Cafe Theatre on 28 April, featuring performances by Caitlyn Calfas, Claire Adams, Jazz Jenkins, Katherine Lyle, Kylie Brady, Elizabeth Colwell and Samuel Adebayo and Stage Managed by Patrick Flannery. 
• Remembrance Monday starring Nick Hayes plays at Seven Dials Playhouse London from 23 April until 1 June.
• Catch Leah Harvey in the miniseries, A Gentleman in Moscow, streaming now on Paramount+. 
• Blu del Barrio returns for the final season of Star Trek: Discovery, streaming now on Paramount+. 
• Sasha Wilson and David Leopold star in the New York transfer The Brief Life and Mysterious Death of Boris III, King of Bulgaria at 59E59 Theatre from 2 May – 2 June, after a successful production at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Arcola Theatre last year. 
• Soroosh Lavasani stars in The Bounds at the Live Theatre from 16 May - 8 June. 
• Brian Cox stars in Long Day’s Journey Into Night, running at the Wyndham Theatre until 8 June. 
• Kayla Meikle will star in Bluets at the Royal Court from 17 May - 29 June. 
• Much Ado About Nothing, starring Ryan Donaldson, Colm Gormley, Ekow Quartey and Adam Wadsworth opens at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on 1 May, running until 24 August. 
• Lee Ingleby stars in brand-new Channel 5 drama series The Cuckoo. 
• Jazz Jenkins and Hannah van der Westhuysen star in Fabulous Creatures at the Arcola Theatre from 22 May to 15 June. 
• Benedict Cumberbatch stars in Eric, streaming on Netflix from 30 May. 

Things to look forward to  

• Josh Rogers will be appearing in the Big AlumNight, directed by Jacob Hutchings, at the Other Palace on 5 June. 
• Anna Maxwell Martin has been cast in the world premiere of The Constituent, which opens at The Old Vic in London on 13 June. 
• Tingying Dong is providing Sound Design for The Secret Garden, playing at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from 15 June - 20 July. 
• Anna Chancellor has joined the cast of upcoming comedy film Promenade.  
• Harriet Walter, Amir El-Masry and Harry Melling are among the cast of the upcoming, new series of Wolf Hall. 
• Jeremy Irvine has joined the cast of Outlander prequel, Blood Of My Blood, due for release in November 2024. 
• That Christmas, an upcoming animated Netflix movie, features the voices of Brian Cox and Katherine Parkinson.  
• I’m Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire at Southwark Playhouse plays from 28 June - 10 August, featuring Holly Ellis as Lighting Designer.  
• Nathaniel Parker and Susannah Wise will star in Alma Mater at the Almeida Theatre from 11 June - 20 July, directed by Polly Findlay. 
• Carly Hendricks stars in her play Strange Orbits, which she developed at LAMDA, playing at Brighton Fringe from 6 - 12 May. The show is directed by Aishwarya Gaikwad. 
• Red Eye starring Richard Armitage premieres on ITV later this year.  
• Mike Gerbi's short film, Missing Her, has been accepted into four film festivals, including the BAFTA qualifying Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, Garden State Film Festival, Beverely Hills Film Festival, and New York City Independent Film Festival. Additionally, it received a nomination for Best Short at the Big Apple Film Festival. 
• Harry Treadaway has joined the cast of BBC Radio 4’s audio adaption of The Man Who Fell to Earth.  
• Audible has announced The Strange Case, a thrilling modern-day reimagining of the classic story of Jekyll and Hyde starring David Oyelowo, set for release in July. 
• Chiwetel Ejiofor has joined the cast of Bridget Jones 4.  
• Amir El-Masry will play boxer Prince Naseem Hamed in the biographical film, The Giant. 
• Apple TV+ has announced a new thriller series, Down Cemetery Road, starring Ruth Wilson. 
• Matt Doyle has been announced among the lineup of performers set for this year's Barrington Stage Summer Cabaret Series, running from 2 June - 31 August at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center.  
• Vivian Allvin stars in Ulysses in Babel, her own thesis turned stage production, at C Alto Studio during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from August 12 to 18. The show is directed by Nick Bagnall who is a guest director at LAMDA.
