All about the course

Are you keen to build your confidence and deepen your understanding of performing contemporary plays? This new intensive acting course has been designed specifically for keen young actors (16 to 19 years old) who want to unlock their potential as a performer.

You’ll be working in a group of ten students and experience LAMDA’s unique ethos of the ensemble as you learn different ways to approach modern play texts. Based at LAMDA, you'll work with industry professionals on scenes from a variety of contemporary plays and study script analysis and character development through voice and movement.

This is one of our own range of non-accredited courses. Once you've completed the course you will receive a LAMDA short course certificate. It is not validated by a higher education institution (HEI).

What will I be doing?

Over five days, you'll be introduced to core performance and acting skills, including:

  • Voice

  • Movement

  • Script analysis

  • Character development

The week will end with an informal sharing of scenes, attended by your tutors and fellow students.

Make sure you wear soft sole shoes, comfortable clothes suitable for movement and a water bottle.

As our cafe is currently closed, you will need to bring your own lunch or buy it locally.

You'll be studying at our campus in west London. Our nearest tube station is Barons Court, which is served by the District and Piccadilly lines. Our next nearest station is Hammersmith, which is fully accessible with step-free access.

Please note that there is no parking at LAMDA.

The final timetable is still being confirmed but the first session of each day will start at 10am. You will need to arrive by 9:45am. Your work day will finish at 5pm.

Each day will have an hour's lunch break - please note that this break will be unsupervised.
