About the performances

Unrealistically Loud Theatre Company
Tarmac, Again
Written
by Colm Gleeson
Directed by Julia Levai
Performed by Will Bishop and Colm Gleeson

When a wrong number phone call accidentally connects a depressed filmmaker and a neurotic vicar, they soon find their mutual fascination and amusement giving way to a genuine need for each other’s support. The ensuing months sees the two spiralling into a long-distance friendship that is as enjoyable and fulfilling as it is destructive and parasitic.

A chaotic, irreverent and reluctantly heartfelt look at the male mental health crisis, Tarmac, Again is a deep dive into the darkness. Without armbands.

This performance contains themes of self-harm and suicide.

Plain Heroines
Good Vibrations
Written and performed by Aoife Kennan
Directed by Gabriella Bird

"Transforming my childhood bedroom into an immersive art piece seems like the healthiest way to deal with a tragedy. I’ve put a lock on the door, and completely rinsed our local shop of twine and board pins… "

Greek nets. Renaissance music. Modern metaphysics. Good Vibrations is one girl’s search to set her universe back to rights, after one of her most vital strings has been cut.

Recommended for 15+.

Produced by Ellie Fitz-Gerard
Production Assistant Kate Reid

Small Want
Written and performed by Milly Roberts

Directed by Elizabeth Benbow

Is keeping a secret an act of love?

An exploration of an unusual sibling relationship muddled by memory, childhood and a half-learned truth, this is the story of how a teenage girl became faced with a truth bigger and scarier than she thought her brain could handle, and how it blew her world wide open in the most beautiful way imaginable.

This performance contains strong language and is recommended for 14+.
