Alumni News: February Edition

Here are just a few highlights of where you can catch our alumni this month.

Latest releases

• The Good John Proctor recently finished at Jermyn Street Theatre, with Bella Kear as Sound Designer and Composer and Laura Howard as Lighting Designer. Sabrina Wu starred in the production. 
• The End We Start From, starring and produced by Benedict Cumberbatch, is now showing in UK cinemas. 
• Sam Jenkins-Shaw is currently starring in The King and I at the Dominion Theatre until 2 March, following the show’s national tour in 2023. 
• The Boy at the Back of the Class, starring Joe McNamara and Zoe Zak, opens at Kingston’s Rose Theatre from 3 February. It runs in Kingston until 22 February, followed by a nationwide tour. 
• Dear Octopus opens at the National Theatre from 7 February, featuring Tingying Dong as Sound Design and Júlia Levai as Staff Director. 
• One Day, featuring Amber Grappy, arrives on Netflix from 8 February. 
• From 27 February, Tingying Dong is providing Sound Design for My Son's a Queer (But what can you do?) at the Lyceum Theatre, Broadway. 
• Tony Goldwyn has joined the cast of Law & Order for its new season. 
• Dónal Finn is currently starring in the role of Orpheus in the West End production of Hadestown. 
• David Oyelowo stars in short film The After, now streaming on Netflix. The short film has recently been nominated for Best Live Action Short at the 2024 Academy Awards. 
• The Enfield Haunting, featuring Grace Molony, is showing at the Ambassador’s Theatre until 2 March. 
• Until 11 March, Gabby Beans is starring in Roundabout Theatre Company's Jonah at the Laura Pels Theatre. 

Things to look forward to 

• 33 by John Selby has been selected as part of the United Solo Festival, and will be premiering at Theatre Row in New York City on 16 March. The show had its origins as John’s thesis project while on the MA Classical Acting programme at LAMDA. 
• Moira McAuliffe’s To Whom Should I Complain, which was created as Moira’s thesis project during the MA Classical Acting course, is premiering at United Solo Festival on 18 April. 
• Luke Treadaway has joined the cast of Cabaret in the West End. The production opened in 2021 and is directed by Rebecca Frecknall. 
• Ekow Quartey and Adam Wadsworth will star in Much Ado About Nothing, showing at Shakespeare’s Globe from 25 April – 24 August. 
• Tinuke Craig will be directing the RSC’s production of The School for Scandal, which opens on 2 July and runs until 6 September. 
• Saamer Usmani can be seen in The Three Body Problem, coming to Netflix in March.
